A great big thanks to all of you who joined, renewed, or made additional pledges to KJazz during our recent 2011 Spring Pledge Drive. You made the drive a huge success and without each and every one of you we would not be able to do what we do, which is continue to bring you great jazz and blues 24/7, 365 days a year! KJazz is celebrating Jazz Appreciation Month and we want you to join in the celebration. Go to www.jazzandblues.org, look for J.A.M. and share with us what you appreciate about jazz and KJazz and why it is important to keep this music alive. Throughout the month we will select comments to read on air. Listen during April to hear amazing music by jazz greats such as Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Hugh Masekela, Herbie Hancock, Randy Weston, Mongo Santamaria and many more. KJazz is committed to the preservation and continuation of this true American art form. During Jazz Appreciation Month, KJazz will help highlight the glories of jazz as both a historical and living national treasure. Show your appreciation for KJazz and pledge your support now to help continue the tradition of jazz and blues radio in Southern California and around the world on the Internet. KJazz will give everyone who pledges $40 or more during the month a Jazz Appreciation Month poster featuring the innovative pianist, composer, and arranger Mary Lou Williams, who performed with Andy Kirk, Duke Ellington and others.
